With all of the cold weather swirling around the country over the past few weeks, I couldn't help but jump at the chance to create a little cake to help me dream about the arrival of Spring:
I started with a frilly white peony, gardenias, freesia buds, sweet peas and hydrangea:
Then I added a little bit of green and yellow ribbon, and mixed well with the creamy white flowers...then gave it a chance to sit prettily on a grassy-green ceramic cake stand:
Happy Spring dreams, and thank you for stopping by!

Ohh.. Jacqueline.. This gives the perfect feeling of spring.. I love your tender colours and the flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou asked in my blogg where I learned to make flowers.. I am all self learned with books, dvd's and trying with failing :o) Have a dream to go to us one time,, maybe lucky if I can take a Ron Ben-Israel class (my dream of lifetime I think ;o)
Cakes goes back all the way to 1994 (with some poor results, but it was the start)
Have a great weekend Jacqueline.

Happy Spring dreams to you too! What a lovely and delicate palate combined with the most beautiful cake stand. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you buy your cake stands? That is so beautiful and it has a very refreshing color!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica...I'm sorry I can't remember where I found this green one...it is very old, but I loved the color too. Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Homegoods, Ebay, Amazon, Rosanna Inc., My Sweet and Saucy, and Whitney Smith are some of my favorite places to look!
