I'm sorry, the glaze is basically food grade shellac, so I sorry I don't know of any recipes where you can make it at home. And if you have glued your petals to the centers with sugar glue, they should not be falling off once dry. You actually don't want to roll the paste to transparency because the petals will break even more easily. With the paste I use, I can store a hundreds of hydrangea loosely in a box with no breakage. What are your using to make your flowers?
Jacqueline Jacqueline Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12896736640088974178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3710781663817965010.post-82874088112690022892013-11-27T23:33:20.639-08:002013-11-27T23:33:20.639-08:00Dear Jacqueline,

It is amazing.

.I tried making hydrangeas the way you mentioned. The hydrangeas came out well initially. But after they dried, they became too brittle and started falling off the wires /centres. Do I have to roll the paste REALLY thin ? How do we store the hydrangea if they are so brittle?

Thanks in advance .
JayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3710781663817965010.post-56528731466359083992013-11-19T14:37:28.573-08:002013-11-19T14:37:28.573-08:00Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work Con...Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work Connie!! (scared that I wouldn't be able to do as good a job as you do)... so I finally decided to evict my roommate, "procrastination" and just took a dive and started... flowers are drying.. leaves already dried... just finished dusting them (@ 11:20 pm!) and tmo morning will add the conf glze w-conf thnnr...
I must say.. so far... so good.. I like what I am seeing and I think they will be good enough to share pics wit you when I am finished...
Again.. thanks for such an awesome tutorial... I did the dusts palettes like you said and label them (one for leaves andone for flowers) and I love the fact that I can save them for later use... I use to hate having to throw out the left over dusts (they are not cheap!) lol....
Will keep you posted...

Dalis
www.nataliecakes.com/home2Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02197061629277829096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3710781663817965010.post-73249545924092751932010-03-01T06:07:42.301-08:002010-03-01T06:07:42.301-08:00Thank you for sharing, your instructions are very ...Thank you for sharing, your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Most of my flowers are dusted and then finished with pearl dust - it works well for me, and I have not had any problems with smudging. But you should do what works best for your situation as well as your personal preference.
